Fiona trains nearly every day.
Typically she will either run 20 miles or do a focused speed session on the treadmill
Fiona posts her sessions on her Facebook page which you can find at this link here
It is an act of incredible self discipline that Fiona is able to fit her training in at all, as the work at the animal sanctuary which she does alone in the week, is absolutely colossal.
There are three separate sanctuary sites with over 50 horses, many of whom are stabled and need mucking out on a daily basis.
The “morning” jobs can take until lunchtime (Fiona rises very early) and her training is completed at this point. Then instead of a rest she has to get back out to start the evening jobs – essentially a repeat of the morning jobs !
With 25 dogs indoors too, the housework is a full time job in itself!
Fiona’s partner Martin takes holiday from his bank job to cover the animal work whilst Fiona competes in a race or goes away to talk at an event or festival.
